Summer is here along with the sweat it brings, and Gamer Goo has you and your hands covered for this already intense June. Luckily there’s also some awesome online gaming events coming up this month to help you survive the dog days. Let’s dive in and take a look:
Indie Live Expo 2021 – Online
June 5 @ 3am – 5am PDT
If you love Indie games, you won’t want to miss the Indie Live Expo on June 5th. Showcasing over 300 games from all over the world, the expo will be broadcast live in English/Japanese /Chinese and is set to be viewed by over 18 million!
Freeplay 2021 – Online
June 8 – 13
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Freeplay was established in ’94 and “positions game making as arts practice.” The world’s longest running indie games festival will include online talks and panels, music, and exhibits. Freeplay promises to explore the “vital margins of independent, alternative, and experimental games culture.”
E3 Expo 2021 – Online
June 12 – 15

PAX Online 2021 – Online
June 15 – 18
While PAX East was cancelled in physical form this year, PAX Online will take its place. However, the PAX people are working full time to keep the same quality as in-person, and plan on delivering a “steady 24/7 stream of content, events, discussions, and gameplay.” This includes: tournaments, all-star indie titles, panels and game demos, announcements, and of course plenty of reveals!
Steam Next Fest 2021 – Online
June 16 – 22
Steam Next Fest was actually renamed (from the previous Steam Game Festival). Steam wants to Focus on the Future, with the fest being dedicated solely to upcoming games. The multi-day online event will feature hundreds of new game demos, developer livestreams, live chats with teams in the midst of game-making, and much more.
Gaming Community Expo (GCX) 2021 – Online
June 17 – 20
Borne from a large Destiny fanbase and formerly known as GuardianCon, GCX is actually a community-based, charity event, dedicated to being a space for like-hearted gamers to improve the world around them. GCX includes both the event with exhibitors (this year, it’ll be in Unreal Engine 4 and in space instead of in-person), as well as the GCX Charity Marathon, where content creators raise money for St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital.
